Alicia Keys NIA Arena, Birmingham

It may not be New York, but last night Alicia Keys christened Birmingham a "concrete jungle where dreams are made of."
Launching her Element Of Freedom tour, Rihanna raunched it up for her entrance, writhing in a cage in a skin-tight black jumpsuit.
"I want you to go on a trip with me, be a rebel, be a renegade," she told the crowd.
Alicia Keys wasted two of her biggest hits, You Don't Know My Name and Fallin', with throw-away versions right at the start of the show and struggled a little to connect with the 13,000-strong crowd at the NIA arena. But when she stepped behind the piano the magic happened.
With the focus away from the rest of the highly-produced stage show, all eyes and ears were finally on the talent.
Shimmering in a Cavalli bronze jumpsuit, she wowed the crowd with Doesn't Mean Anything and No-One, proving why her incredible voice has shifted over 50 million records.
The best was left 'til last, and though minus Jay-Z, she belted out Empire State Of Mind as the encore, reminding us why it's already a classic, and why there was only one lady the Jigga man wanted for the track.
